Security Engineer • Senior

You have 5+ years of experience in security engineering and operations — you've developed a deep understanding of security operations, detection and response, and strategic long-term risk assessment. You are naturally accountable and responsible, with a strong sense of personal ownership and motivation. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills enable you to work effectively across teams, fostering collaboration and accountability. You are comfortable with unknowns and possess a learning mindset, always seeking to improve and mentor others in the field.

You have a proven track record of making a difference in the projects under your purview — your experience includes developing dataflow diagrams for mission-critical systems and implementing pen-test best practices. You are passionate about security and operational excellence, and you uphold Apple’s values in every aspect of your work.

What you'll do

In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the security of the systems and infrastructure used to manage, build, and distribute Apple’s software. You will be responsible for the rollout and operation of critical security services, developing new detections across the software stack, and assisting engineers in implementing changes to improve their security posture. You will think strategically and work cross-functionally, helping to foster an environment of deep collaboration and accountability towards the success of Apple’s software.

You will lead initiatives that enhance the security of Apple’s software, ensuring that best practices are followed and that the team is aligned with the company's security goals. Your role will involve mentoring engineers, guiding them in security practices, and promoting a culture of security awareness throughout the organization. You will also be involved in incident response and risk assessment, ensuring that Apple’s systems remain secure and resilient against threats.
