Overview
Apple is hiring a Senior SoC Physical Design Engineer to lead the physical implementation of complex SOC designs. You'll work closely with the logic design team to drive physical aspects early in the design cycle. This position requires 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience in physical design, particularly in the context of System on Chip (SoC) implementations. Your background includes a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and you possess a deep understanding of partition level P&R implementation, including floorplanning, clock and power distribution, and timing closure. You are adept at resolving design and flow issues and have a proven track record of driving optimization for Power/Performance/Area metrics.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with logic design teams to understand partition architecture and drive physical aspects early in the design cycle. Your experience includes completing netlist to GDS2 implementations while meeting strict schedules and design goals. You are detail-oriented and have a strong focus on timing, physical, and electrical verification, ensuring signoff closure for your partitions.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be directly responsible for the physical implementation of design partitions from netlist to tapeout for highly complex SOCs. You will collaborate with the logic design team to understand the architecture and drive physical aspects early in the design cycle. Your responsibilities will include completing netlist to GDS2 implementations, ensuring that all design goals and schedules are met. You will also be tasked with timing, physical, and electrical verification, driving the signoff closure for your partitions.
You will identify and resolve design and flow issues related to physical design, proposing potential solutions and driving their execution. Your role will involve optimizing PnR partitions to achieve the best Power/Performance/Area metrics, ensuring that the designs are not only functional but also efficient. You will be a key player in the team, contributing to the innovative process technology that Apple is known for.
What we offer
At Apple, you will be part of a team that is dedicated to innovation and excellence. We offer a collaborative work environment where your ideas can flourish and contribute to groundbreaking products. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in the industry, all while being part of a company that values diversity and inclusion.
