Overview
Apple is seeking a Timing Design Engineer to oversee timing sign-off and develop sign-off flows for SoC design. This role requires a BS degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a BS degree in a technical discipline and at least 3 years of relevant experience in ASIC design. Your expertise includes timing sign-off and the development of sign-off flows, demonstrating a strong understanding of both regular and custom timing requirements. You are skilled in collaborating with RTL designers to grasp design intent and clock structure, ensuring that timing constraints are met effectively.
You possess a proven ability to innovate timing constraints and flows, facilitating timing closure while addressing any potential pessimism or fallouts in timing analysis. Your experience allows you to develop ideas and plans to verify your own timing constraints, showcasing your proactive approach to problem-solving in complex design environments.
You thrive in collaborative settings, working closely with CAD and Physical design teams to achieve sign-off quality timing constraints. Your communication skills enable you to interact effectively with various stakeholders, ensuring that all aspects of timing design are aligned with project goals.
Desirable
Experience with advanced ASIC design methodologies and tools is a plus. Familiarity with industry-standard timing analysis tools will enhance your ability to contribute to the team.
What you'll do
As a Timing Design Engineer at Apple, you will take on key responsibilities that span all aspects of SoC design in terms of timing. Your primary focus will be on timing sign-off, where you will ensure that all timing constraints are met from synthesis to sign-off. You will develop and refine the sign-off flow, working closely with various teams to ensure a seamless process.
You will own the IP and block level timing constraints, ensuring that both regular and custom timing requirements are addressed. Your role will involve close interaction with RTL designers to understand design intent and clock structure, which is crucial for achieving optimal timing performance.
In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will be expected to innovate and propose new timing constraints and flows that facilitate timing closure. You will also be responsible for verifying your own timing constraints, ensuring that they meet the high standards expected at Apple.
Collaboration will be key in this role, as you will work with CAD teams to develop and enhance the timing sign-off flow. You will also engage with the Physical design team to close and sign-off timing, ensuring that all aspects of the design are aligned and functioning as intended.
What we offer
At Apple, you will be part of a diverse and inclusive team that values creativity and innovation. We offer a collaborative work environment where your ideas can flourish and contribute to groundbreaking products. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and be part of a team that is dedicated to making a positive impact on the world.
We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. Your unique perspective and skills could be the perfect fit for our team. Join us at Apple and help shape the future of technology.
