Overview

Apple is seeking a Timing Design Engineer to oversee timing sign-off and develop sign-off flows for SoC designs. You'll work closely with RTL designers and physical design teams, requiring expertise in ASIC design and timing analysis.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a BS degree in a technical discipline and at least 10 years of relevant experience in ASIC design. Your proven knowledge of timing sign-off and static timing analysis (STA) makes you a strong candidate for this role. You have a deep understanding of SoC design and are skilled in developing timing constraints that ensure high-quality sign-off. Your experience allows you to innovate timing constraints and flows, facilitating timing closure and addressing potential issues in timing analysis.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with RTL designers to understand design intent and clock structures. Your interactions with CAD teams help you develop effective flows, while your collaboration with physical design teams ensures successful timing closure. You are proactive in coming up with ideas and plans to verify your timing constraints, demonstrating your commitment to quality and precision in your work.

Desirable

Experience with custom timing requirements and a strong background in timing analysis tools will set you apart. Familiarity with industry-standard methodologies and a track record of successful timing sign-offs will enhance your candidacy. You are someone who enjoys tackling complex challenges and is eager to contribute to innovative projects at Apple.

What you'll do

As a Timing Design Engineer at Apple, you will be responsible for all aspects of timing in SoC design. Your primary duties will include timing sign-off and the development of STA and sign-off flows. You will own the timing constraints at both the IP and block levels, ensuring that they meet both regular and custom timing requirements. Your role will involve close collaboration with RTL designers to grasp design intent and clock structures, which is crucial for effective timing analysis.

You will work with CAD teams to understand and develop the necessary flows for timing closure. Your expertise will be essential in innovating timing constraints and flows, which will help mitigate any pessimism or issues that arise during timing analysis. You will also be responsible for verifying your timing constraints, ensuring that they meet the high standards expected at Apple.

Your contributions will directly impact the quality and performance of Apple's products, as you help drive the timing aspects of SoC designs from synthesis to sign-off. You will be part of a team that values collaboration and innovation, where your ideas and insights will be welcomed and encouraged.

What we offer

At Apple, you will be part of a diverse and inclusive team that is committed to innovation and excellence. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. You will have the chance to work on cutting-edge technology that impacts millions of users worldwide. Join us in our mission to create products that change lives for the better, and be part of a culture that values creativity and collaboration.
