You'll work with technologies like Java, JavaScript, and AWS to develop cloud-based solutions. This role requires significant experience in full stack development.

Job Description

Who you are

You are a Staff Full Stack Software Engineer with over 5 years of experience building large-scale software applications. You have a deep interest in backend technologies and are also familiar with frontend and mobile technologies and challenges. Your expertise allows you to instill new ideas into our engineering architecture and organization, helping lead us into the next phase of scale and growth of our Records Management system.

You thrive in collaborative environments where you can connect with diverse perspectives from your colleagues and customers. You understand the importance of creating scalable cloud-based systems and are excited about the care, feeding, and growth of the engineering organizations that build them. Your experience has equipped you with the ability to drive real change and take ownership of your projects, ensuring that they align with our mission to protect life.

You possess strong problem-solving skills and can navigate complex technical challenges with ease. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders makes you a valuable asset to any team. You are committed to continuous learning and growth, always seeking to improve your skills and knowledge in the field.

Desirable

Experience with cloud technologies and services, particularly AWS, is a plus. Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks such as React or Angular will enhance your ability to contribute to our projects. A background in law enforcement or public safety technology is beneficial but not required.

What you'll do

In this role, you will join Axon and be a force for good, contributing to our mission of protecting life. You will work on Axon Records, a cloud-based records management system that modernizes how law enforcement agencies capture, manage, and access data. Your work will streamline report writing and approval workflows, allowing officers to spend more time in their communities and less time at their desks.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to develop and enhance our software solutions. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing new features, optimizing existing systems for performance and scalability, and ensuring the overall quality of the software through rigorous testing and code reviews.

You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their careers. Your contributions will directly impact the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies, making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve.

What we offer

At Axon, we offer a fast-paced and meaningful work environment where you can make a real impact. We value diversity and encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement. Our culture promotes collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, ensuring that you have the support you need to succeed.

We provide competitive compensation and benefits, along with opportunities for professional development and growth. Join us in our mission to create a safer world through technology and innovation.
