Baseten is seeking a Mid-Level Accountant to build and scale the revenue function in a rapidly growing environment. You'll own the full revenue lifecycle, focusing on policy, process, and systems. This role requires experience in revenue accounting and familiarity with ASC 606.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in revenue accounting, ideally with 5+ years of experience in a similar role. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable with ambiguity, which allows you to build financial systems that enable accuracy and scalability. Your expertise includes developing revenue recognition policies under ASC 606, particularly for usage-based and consumption models. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for establishing processes that support real-time billing. You enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Legal, and Engineering, to ensure smooth operations throughout the revenue lifecycle.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead and establish end-to-end revenue accounting operations, which includes contract review, invoicing, usage metering, and revenue recognition. You will develop and document revenue recognition policies that align with ASC 606, focusing on usage-based models. Your responsibilities will also involve building processes and systems to support real-time usage-based billing, ensuring that all financial operations are efficient and compliant. You will partner closely with various departments to structure deals, quote accurately, and manage the customer lifecycle effectively. Your role will be pivotal in scaling the revenue function as the company grows, making your contributions essential to Baseten's success.
