What you'll do
As a Data Engineer at Basis AI, you will be responsible for building and standardizing our data platform. You will design data pipelines that ingest, validate, and transform accounting data into clean, reliable datasets. Your role will involve defining schemas and data contracts that balance flexibility with correctness. You will implement validation, lineage tracking, and drift detection into every pipeline to ensure data integrity. You will create interfaces that make data discoverable, computable, and observable throughout the system. Additionally, you will model the domain as a system, translating accounting concepts into well-structured ontologies, including entities, relationships, and rules. You will create abstractions that help AI systems reason safely about real-world constraints. You will collaborate with other teams to ensure that the data systems you build meet the needs of the AI agents and the overall product.
