Benchling is hiring a Senior Product Manager for their App Foundations team to enhance foundational capabilities for scientific data management. Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in product management, ideally within the technology or biotechnology sectors — you understand how to connect foundational investments to company priorities and demonstrate their impact on product development. Your strong business acumen allows you to navigate complex stakeholder environments and prioritize effectively.
You possess a deep understanding of API-driven architectures and have experience in transforming tightly coupled implementations into modular systems — your technical background enables you to communicate effectively with engineering teams and foster collaboration across departments. You are adept at balancing user needs with business objectives, ensuring that product enhancements align with strategic goals.
What you'll do
In this role, you will own the roadmap for the App Foundations team, focusing on improving the document and spreadsheet-like surfaces where scientific data is created and reused. You will work closely with engineering teams to enhance their confidence in making changes to these foundational capabilities, optimizing for multiplier effects across teams. Your responsibilities will include conducting user research to understand pain points, defining success metrics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive product improvements.
You will also be responsible for stakeholder management, ensuring that all teams are aligned on priorities and that product developments meet the needs of users. You will lead discussions on strategic investments in new scientific modalities, demonstrating how these enhancements can accelerate product development and unlock new capabilities.
