Benchling is seeking a Product Manager for their Automation team to lead the development of their automation and data orchestration platform. You'll be responsible for defining the product vision and roadmap while transforming how life sciences organizations automate workflows. This role requires experience in product management within the tech or biotech sectors.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in product management, ideally with experience in automation and data orchestration. You understand the complexities of life sciences and how technology can enhance R&D operations. You are a visionary leader who can define product vision and drive execution, ensuring that the automation platform meets the needs of scientists and automation engineers alike. You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. You are comfortable with both low-code and no-code capabilities, enabling you to cater to a diverse user base. You are passionate about leveraging technology to improve scientific workflows and are excited about the potential of biotechnology.
Desirable
Experience in the biotech or life sciences industry is a plus, as is familiarity with API integrations and data processing. A background in software development or engineering can also be beneficial, as it will help you understand the technical aspects of the automation platform. You are proactive in seeking out user feedback and using it to inform product decisions, ensuring that the platform evolves in line with user needs.
What you'll do
As the Product Manager for Automation at Benchling, you will lead the development of the Pipelines platform, focusing on how life sciences organizations connect instruments and automate workflows. You will define the product roadmap and prioritize features that enhance the user experience. You will work closely with engineering teams to ensure that the platform is built to scale and meets the high standards expected in the biotech industry. You will also engage with customers to gather insights and feedback, using this information to refine the product and drive innovation. Your role will involve coordinating with various stakeholders, including scientists and automation engineers, to ensure that the platform effectively addresses their needs. You will be responsible for setting key performance indicators and measuring the success of the automation initiatives.
