You have 5+ years of software engineering experience, particularly in building scalable applications that prioritize security and compliance. Your expertise in Java allows you to develop robust features that enhance user authentication and authorization processes. You understand the importance of integrating core services with cross-functional teams, ensuring that the applications you work on deliver value to users effectively.

Your experience with AWS equips you with the skills to leverage cloud services for application development, ensuring high availability and performance. You are familiar with REST API design principles, enabling you to create seamless interactions between different components of the application. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with product and customer success teams to drive end-to-end delivery of projects.

You are detail-oriented and have a strong understanding of enterprise-grade security practices, which you apply to your coding and architectural decisions. You are passionate about using technology to solve complex problems in the biotechnology sector, and you are excited about the opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven company like Benchling.

Desirable

Experience with identity and access management systems is a plus, as it will help you understand the nuances of user permissions and security protocols. What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer on the App Core & IAM team, you will be responsible for driving the end-to-end delivery of large-scale application platform projects. This includes collaborating with cross-functional partners in product and customer success to ideate and roll out new features that enhance user experience. You will ensure that the core functionality of user authentication and authorization is robust and scalable, allowing Benchling's innovative biotech solutions to thrive.

You will work closely with other platform and application teams to help them leverage the core services you develop, ensuring that they can ship value in their respective product areas. Your role will involve writing quality code at a high velocity, while also prioritizing security and compliance throughout the development process. You will be expected to engage in code reviews, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and contribute to the overall technical direction of the team.

You will also have the opportunity to integrate AI-driven experiences into the application, enhancing the functionality and user engagement. Your contributions will directly impact how users interact with Benchling's R&D Cloud, enabling them to unlock the full potential of biotechnology.
