You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly with backend systems, and have a strong understanding of building scalable applications. Your expertise in Java is complemented by your familiarity with microservices architecture, allowing you to design and implement robust solutions that meet business needs.

You are well-versed in working with both relational and NoSQL databases, including MySQL and Elasticsearch, and understand how to optimize data storage and retrieval for performance. Your experience with stream processing technologies like Kafka enables you to handle real-time data flows effectively.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Your problem-solving skills are top-notch, and you enjoy tackling complex challenges that require innovative thinking and technical expertise.

You are passionate about automation and efficiency, always looking for ways to improve processes and workflows. Your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders makes you a valuable team member.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms and services is a plus, as is familiarity with DevOps practices and tools. If you have worked in a SaaS environment before, that would be an added advantage.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer at BetterCloud, you will be responsible for designing and developing features within our Microservices architecture. You will collaborate with product managers and other engineers to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

You will implement backend services that are scalable and maintainable, ensuring they meet performance and reliability standards. Your role will involve writing clean, efficient code and participating in code reviews to uphold quality across the team.

You will also be involved in optimizing database queries and ensuring data integrity across our systems. Your expertise in Kafka will be crucial as you work on stream processing tasks, enabling real-time data handling for our applications.

In addition to development work, you will mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and helping them grow in their roles. You will contribute to architectural discussions and help shape the technical direction of our projects.
