Job Description
Who you are
You have over 5 years of relevant professional experience in the electronics and/or software industries, with a strong understanding of product requirements and the ability to create comprehensive test plans. Your background includes working closely with electrical engineers and manufacturing test engineers to conduct failure analysis on prototypes and EVT units. You are familiar with embedded systems and have experience in testing hardware and embedded software for mining products. You possess strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C, and C++, which you utilize to create software tools that automate the validation process of hardware features and firmware used by devices.
You are detail-oriented and have a methodical approach to testing, ensuring that all aspects of the product are thoroughly evaluated. Your collaborative nature allows you to work effectively with mechanical and firmware engineers, as well as tech ops teams, to analyze defects reported in the field. You are comfortable traveling to factory sites and testing facilities for up to 25% of the year, demonstrating your commitment to ensuring product quality.
Desirable
Experience with test automation frameworks and tools is a plus, as is familiarity with the bitcoin mining industry. You are proactive in identifying areas for improvement in testing processes and are eager to contribute to the development of innovative solutions in the open economy.
What you'll do
In this role, you will focus on ensuring that the hardware and embedded software for Block's mining products are functioning as intended. You will define test cases and comprehensive test plans, working closely with various engineering teams to test the reliability and performance of mining products. Your responsibilities will include conducting failure analysis on prototypes and EVT units, collaborating with electrical and mechanical engineers to identify and resolve issues. You will also work with the tech ops team to analyze defects reported in the field, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality.
You will create software tools that automate the process of validating hardware features and firmware, streamlining testing procedures and improving efficiency. Your role will involve regular communication with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on product requirements and testing strategies. You will be expected to travel to factory sites and testing facilities, providing hands-on support and oversight during the testing phases of product development.
