You have a strong background in cloud technologies and open source applications, with hands-on experience in deploying and managing private cloud infrastructures. Your expertise in Linux and cloud-native operations allows you to design solutions that meet diverse workload needs. You enjoy working collaboratively and coaching colleagues, fostering a healthy engineering culture aligned with company values.
You are proficient in Python and have experience developing Kubernetes operators and infrastructure-as-code solutions. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly makes you an effective consultant for customers, helping them embrace the latest technologies. You thrive in a remote work environment and are open to global travel for events and collaboration.
Desirable
Experience with additional cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus. Familiarity with tools like Ceph, Hadoop, and Spark will enhance your ability to architect comprehensive solutions. A passion for open source and a commitment to continuous learning will help you excel in this role.
What you'll do
As a Cloud Field Engineer at Canonical, you will work across the entire Linux stack, from kernel to applications, ensuring that our customers can effectively utilize the latest cloud technologies. You will architect cloud infrastructure solutions tailored to specific workload requirements, whether on-premises or in public cloud environments. Your role will involve hands-on deployment, testing, and transitioning solutions to support or managed services teams.
You will collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions that leverage Linux Ubuntu, OpenStack, and Kubernetes. Your responsibilities will include coaching and developing your colleagues, sharing insights, and contributing to a collaborative engineering culture. You will also engage in presentations and training sessions to help customers fully embrace the solutions you design.
