Job Description
Who you are
You have a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, preferably in computer science or software engineering, and a proven track record in technical roles with Linux, ideally Ubuntu or Debian. Your experience includes management responsibilities, and you are committed to development and testing methodologies, ensuring maintainable code quality. You possess excellent time management skills and critical thinking abilities, which enable you to solve complex problems effectively.
As a leader, you excel at recruiting, motivating, mentoring, and enabling your team to succeed in delivering quality products. You understand the importance of setting goals with your team, prioritizing tasks, and identifying and measuring team health indicators. You are dedicated to maximizing the results of your team members and supporting their career growth.
What you'll do
In this role, you will coordinate with project managers, hardware engineers, quality assurance, and certification management to monitor projects from kickoff to post-mortem, handling escalations as necessary. You will communicate with OEMs, ODMs, and other stakeholders to understand and resolve technical challenges, prioritizing customer requests globally. Your leadership will guide methodologies, strategies, standards, tools, and best practices within the team, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
You will collaborate closely with product engineering teams, including Desktop, Foundations, Kernel, and Security, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of projects. Your ability to travel to the EU, USA, China, and Taiwan will facilitate collaboration with international partners and stakeholders, enhancing the global reach of Canonical's products.
