Who you are

You have a strong background in Linux kernel development and are excited about making a real impact on millions of Ubuntu users. Your experience includes collaborating with upstream developers and hardware vendors to integrate the latest hardware support into Ubuntu. You are skilled in tackling complex issues related to consumer components, including Wi-Fi and Thunderbolt docks, BIOS, and UEFI. You understand the importance of optimal power efficiency and performance in your work, and you are eager to explore the latest architecture and platform technologies from Intel, AMD, and other silicon vendors.

You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working closely with a globally distributed team. Your ability to analyze root causes and develop fixes will be crucial as you submit patches for review. You are passionate about leveraging your software engineering skills on cutting-edge hardware and are committed to delivering high-quality kernel support for a wide range of devices.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining kernel support for Ubuntu on next-generation hardware. You will collaborate with world-leading OEM partners to ensure that Ubuntu runs smoothly on their laptops, desktops, and workstations. Your day-to-day tasks will involve working with upstream kernel maintainers and hardware vendors to address complex issues and integrate new hardware support. You will also be expected to analyze root causes of problems, develop fixes, and submit patches for review.
