Who you are

You have a strong background in software engineering with a focus on Linux systems — your experience includes participation in open-source development projects, and you are passionate about Linux and open-source technologies. You possess excellent English-language communication skills, especially in online environments, which allows you to collaborate effectively with globally-distributed teams. Your time-management skills are proven, and you thrive in a self-motivated environment.

What you'll do

As a Software Engineer at Canonical, you will work closely with project managers and Field/QA engineers to identify, triage, and fix critical system-level problems. You will collaborate with upstream projects to find and apply patches for bugs affecting OEM/ODM customers, ensuring that Ubuntu operates seamlessly on various systems. Your role will also involve championing locally-developed patches for inclusion in the upstream package, providing software and system engineering services tailored to OEM and ODM customers. Occasionally, you may be required to travel internationally to collaborate with partners in the EU, USA, China, and Taiwan.
