Who you are

You have extensive experience in cyber security, with a proven track record of managing security operations teams. Your hands-on expertise with a range of open source and proprietary security tools allows you to lead by example and contribute at the highest level. You possess strong writing and presentation skills, enabling you to report security performance metrics with accountability for accuracy and completeness.

Your background includes experience in both offensive and defensive security teams, giving you a well-rounded perspective on security challenges. You are familiar with security standards such as ISO 27001 and have a deep understanding of security posture management for corporate endpoints. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are passionate about developing playbooks and facilitating training across teams.

What you'll do

In this global leadership role, you will manage the Security Operations team responsible for the design, implementation, and evolution of Canonical's security practices. You will oversee the strategy and practices that determine how Canonical secures its data and internal infrastructure. Your team will be the primary owner of technical security controls that ensure security threats are automatically identified, contained, and remediated.

You will lead initiatives to integrate the team's insights into Canonical's broader software development process, improving the resilience and robustness of all Ubuntu customers and users against cyber attacks. As a leader, you will collaborate with the Organisational Learning and Development team to develop training programs and playbooks that enhance the skills of your team and the wider organization.

Your role will involve assessing work based on your professional experience and skill, ensuring that the team operates at a high level of performance. You will also be responsible for improving Canonical's overall security posture, contributing to the development of security practices that align with industry standards and best practices.
