Who you are
You have extensive experience in cybersecurity, particularly in defending critical assets against advanced persistent threats and state-level actors. Your background includes a proven personal interest in cyber attack and defense, along with outstanding academic and career performance, even if your experience is limited. You are passionate about building assurance and observable rigor into the open source supply chain, and you understand the importance of security in software development.
You possess strong analytical skills and are adept at identifying security threats and vulnerabilities. Your experience includes designing and implementing security controls that ensure threats are automatically identified, contained, and remediated. You are a proactive team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to the overall security strategy of the organization.
What you'll do
As a Staff Security Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and evolution of Canonical's security practices, techniques, tools, systems, and policies. You will lead efforts to assure the security and integrity of Canonical's infrastructure and product deployments. Your role will involve monitoring the security of the organization's estate and contributing to the resilience and robustness of the entire global Ubuntu estate.
You will work closely with the CISO and other team members to develop strategies that enhance security across all levels of the organization. Your responsibilities will include conducting threat analysis, responding to incidents, and collaborating with various teams to improve security measures. You will also contribute ideas and requirements for Canonical product security, ensuring that all Ubuntu customers and users are protected against cyber attacks.
