You have a strong background in systems engineering, particularly with a focus on operational efficiency in data centers. Your experience with Python allows you to write and utilize software for deploying and configuring servers and network switches effectively. You are comfortable working with both cutting-edge and established hardware, ensuring that new versions of Ubuntu run smoothly on various systems.
You possess a solid understanding of Linux environments, which is crucial for managing the day-to-day operations of the lab. What you'll do
As a MAAS Systems Engineer at Canonical, you will be responsible for the daily management and operations of our lab in Toronto. Your primary focus will be on building tooling that enhances data center operational efficiency. You will engage in writing software that deploys and configures servers and network switches, addressing design problems related to scalability and performance.
You will collaborate closely with the Kernel Team and Partner Engineering teams to ensure that new silicon and server designs are certified for Ubuntu. Your role will involve troubleshooting and optimizing existing systems, as well as implementing new solutions that align with Canonical's goals. You will also participate in strategic discussions about lab operations and contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes.
