Job Description

Who you are

You have at least 5 years of experience in the Heavy Class 8 Mechanical Industry or a similar field — your expertise in diesel engines and heavy equipment maintenance sets you apart. You are a motivated team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys overseeing day-to-day operations within a technician team.

Your strong communication skills enable you to provide clear expectations, performance measures, and feedback to your team. You have a solid understanding of preventative maintenance protocols and are adept at managing parts rooms and vendor invoices, ensuring compliance with company guidelines.

You are familiar with using diagnostic equipment to diagnose issues and perform general maintenance on heavy equipment. Your hands-on experience with welding and other mechanical repairs allows you to tackle a variety of challenges effectively.

What you'll do

As a Master Mechanic at Carvana, you will play a crucial role in the Fleet Maintenance team, ensuring that all preventative maintenance and general repairs are completed to Carvana standards. You will oversee the daily operations of your assigned technician team, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work.

You will manage the parts room according to guidelines provided by the Centralized Parts Team, maintaining accurate records for respective ELD and fleet programs. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing issues using engine diagnostic equipment and performing general maintenance and DVIR for all heavy equipment.

You will also be responsible for managing invoices for repairs completed by third-party vendors, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and compliant with company policies. Your leadership will help foster a culture of safety and efficiency within the team, contributing to the overall success of Carvana's fleet operations.

Additionally, we provide unique perks such as student loan payments and discounts on vehicles, making your experience with us even more rewarding.

Join us in delivering happiness to our customers by ensuring that our fleet is well-maintained and operational. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement — your passion for mechanics and teamwork is what we value most.
