Caseware is seeking a Legal Counsel to support commercial transactions and assist with contract negotiations. You'll work closely with the sales teams and collaborate across the business. This role requires membership in the Ontario Bar Association.
Job Description
Who you are
You are an energetic and organized lawyer with a proactive approach, ready to join a small legal team at Caseware. You have experience in managing legal matters and are comfortable with various types of commercial contracts, including licensing agreements, SaaS agreements, and partnership agreements. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to connect with different areas of the business to provide legal support. Your ability to assist with complex contract negotiations will be crucial in this role, as you will work closely with the sales teams to ensure smooth transactions.
What you'll do
As a Legal Counsel at Caseware, you will report directly to the General Counsel and assist in the day-to-day management of the legal department. Your primary focus will be on supporting commercial transactions, which involves negotiating and drafting contracts that align with the company's goals. You will also play a vital role in collaborating with various departments, ensuring that legal considerations are integrated into business strategies. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a growing in-house legal team within a leading Fintech company.
