CLEAR is hiring a Software Engineer to architect and maintain the software layer for their identity platform. You'll work with Linux-based kiosks and ensure system reliability and security. This role requires experience in embedded systems and site reliability engineering.

You have a strong background in software engineering, particularly in platform development, with experience in architecting and maintaining systems that ensure reliability and security. Your expertise in Linux and embedded systems allows you to effectively manage and optimize the software layer that supports thousands of kiosks. You understand the importance of creating frictionless user experiences and are passionate about technology that enhances everyday life.

Desirable

Experience with over-the-air (OTA) updates and device observability is a plus, as is familiarity with distributed systems and edge computing. You are comfortable working in a collaborative team environment and are eager to share your knowledge with others.

What you'll do

In this role, you will architect and implement OS-level watchdogs and process monitors to ensure the health of our kiosks. You will be responsible for OS image management and will oversee the deployment of OTA updates to keep our systems current and secure. Your work will involve developing solutions that enhance device observability and system recovery processes, ensuring that our kiosks deliver a consistent and reliable experience for users.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware operations and software engineering, to address challenges and improve system performance. Your contributions will directly impact the user experience, making travel and daily activities smoother for millions of members. You will also engage in troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise in the field, applying your technical expertise to maintain system integrity.
