You have at least eight years of experience in software engineering, demonstrating strong proficiency in programming languages and a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures. You are self-motivated and thrive in collaborative environments, eager to tackle complex challenges and contribute to a high-performance team culture.

Your expertise spans modern technology stacks, and you are comfortable working with cloud-native applications. You have a deep understanding of the financial domain, particularly in areas related to trading and risk management, which allows you to effectively communicate with users and stakeholders to define new features.

You are familiar with building highly available and scalable applications, ensuring that they meet the demands of a fast-paced trading environment. Your experience includes working with tools and technologies such as TypeScript, React, and Java, and you are adept at using Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.

Desirable

Experience with Kafka and AWS is a plus, as these technologies are integral to the infrastructure you will be working with. A background in financial systems or broker-dealer operations will help you navigate the complexities of the role and contribute to the team's mission of automating trade processes.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing applications that support the operations of large trading firms, ensuring that trades are executed accurately and efficiently. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user requirements and drive feature development from concept to completion.

You will engage in problem-solving activities that underpin the financial system, handling tens of millions of trades per day. Your work will involve building mission-critical applications that are both scalable and reliable, contributing to the overall success of Clear Street's platform.

As part of the Broker-Dealer Clearing team, you will have the opportunity to work on a modern technology stack, utilizing your skills in TypeScript, React, and Java to create innovative solutions. You will also be involved in code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring best practices in software development are followed.
