You have 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in building scalable and efficient systems. You understand the intricacies of compensation workflows and have a passion for transforming traditional processes into modern solutions. Your expertise in Python and Django allows you to create robust backend services that power user-friendly applications.

You possess a strong understanding of database management, particularly with PostgreSQL, and are comfortable designing and optimizing schemas for performance. Your experience with GraphQL APIs enables you to create flexible and efficient data retrieval methods, ensuring that front-end applications receive the data they need seamlessly.

You are familiar with modern frontend technologies, particularly React, and understand how to collaborate effectively with frontend developers to create cohesive user experiences. Your knowledge of Docker and GitHub ensures that you can manage your development environment and collaborate with your team efficiently.

You are proactive in monitoring application performance and reliability, utilizing tools like Datadog and Sentry to identify and resolve issues before they impact users. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are excited about the opportunity to contribute to a small, focused team.

Desirable

What you'll do

As a Senior/Staff Backend Engineer at Complete, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the backend systems that support our innovative compensation solutions. You will design and implement scalable APIs using Python and Django, ensuring that they meet the needs of our diverse user base.

You will collaborate closely with product managers and frontend engineers to define and refine the features that will drive our product forward. Your ability to translate complex requirements into technical specifications will be key to your success in this role.

You will take ownership of the database architecture, ensuring that our PostgreSQL databases are optimized for performance and reliability. You will implement best practices for data management and security, ensuring that our users' information is handled with the utmost care.

You will also be responsible for monitoring application performance and implementing solutions to improve efficiency. Your experience with tools like Datadog and Sentry will help you proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring a smooth user experience.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and helping them grow in their careers. You will foster a collaborative environment where team members feel empowered to contribute their ideas and expertise.
