Who you are

You have at least 5 years of experience developing scalable backend services, particularly using Python. You are well-versed in building RESTful APIs and have experience with frameworks such as FastAPI and Pydantic. Your familiarity with video container formats and streaming protocols, including MP4, MKV, HLS, and MP-DASH, sets you apart. You have a strong understanding of deploying applications in Kubernetes and Docker, especially in the context of machine learning models on NVIDIA hardware.

You are comfortable working with event streaming and processing technologies, having experience with tools like Kafka and SQS. Your coding skills are complemented by a solid grasp of secure, stable, and scalable software development practices. You thrive in collaborative environments, working alongside engineers and researchers to push the boundaries of technology.

Desirable

Familiarity with audio and video web standards and tools such as Webcodecs and WebRTC is a plus. Experience with Golang is also beneficial, as it broadens your ability to contribute to various projects within the team.

What you'll do

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Hedra, you will design, build, and deploy backend services that power transformative products like Create, Stylize, and Studio. You will dive deep into video container formats and streaming protocols, ensuring that our web-based video and audio creation tools operate seamlessly. Your role will involve writing secure and scalable Python code while integrating with our groundbreaking foundation model.

You will collaborate with a team of passionate engineers and top researchers to develop innovative solutions that redefine content creation. Your responsibilities will include building and deploying backend services and APIs to our Kubernetes infrastructure, as well as implementing event streaming and processing logic using SQS and Kafka. You will also be involved in optimizing our backend systems for performance and reliability, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards.
