5+ years of backend engineering experience building scalable systems — you've designed and implemented microservices that handle high transaction volumes and understand the intricacies of financial services. You have a strong grasp of Java and Spring, and you're comfortable working in a cloud environment.

You thrive in collaborative settings, working closely with product and design teams to create user-centric financial solutions. Your experience includes maintaining and optimizing backend services, ensuring they meet the demands of a growing user base. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for troubleshooting complex issues in production environments.

Desirable

Experience in the fintech sector is a plus, as is familiarity with Banking as a Service platforms. You understand the importance of security and compliance in financial applications and have implemented best practices in your previous roles.

What you'll do

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Comun, you will be responsible for extending our systems to support additional banking features and increasing usage volume. You will maintain our core offering — a deposit account and debit card powered through our Banking as a Service partner. Your role will involve designing our architecture to bundle additional financial services into a personalized product experience.

You will work within a lightweight microservice infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that our backend systems are robust and scalable. Your responsibilities will include writing clean, maintainable code, conducting code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers. You will also be involved in performance tuning and optimization of our services to handle increasing transaction volumes efficiently.
