Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in backend engineering, particularly in building cloud-native applications and services. Your expertise in distributed systems allows you to tackle complex challenges and drive technical delivery from customer experience to internal operations. You are a strategic thinker who is not confined to the status quo and is eager to leverage your skills to enhance Confluent's platform.
You possess a deep understanding of cloud technologies and have experience with large-scale distributed systems. Your knowledge of operational aspects such as availability, reliability, performance, monitoring, and disaster recovery is crucial for ensuring a resilient and secure offering. You thrive in collaborative environments, valuing honest feedback and teamwork.
What you'll do
As a Senior Software Engineer at Confluent, you will work on building foundational cloud frameworks and services that power all components of the platform. You will be involved in developing a multi-tenant, multi-cloud, polyglot compute substrate that enables new business opportunities across Confluent Cloud. Your role will require you to think strategically about the technical delivery and ensure that the platform meets high operational standards.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to address key operational aspects, ensuring that the Compute Platform is highly available and resilient. Your contributions will directly impact how data moves and is utilized, allowing companies to react faster and build smarter solutions. You will also be responsible for monitoring system performance and implementing improvements based on operational feedback.
