5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on distributed systems — you've tackled complex infrastructure problems and have a strong understanding of data streaming technologies. Your expertise in Java allows you to build scalable solutions that meet high availability requirements.

Deep knowledge of Kafka and its ecosystem — you've worked on projects that involve real-time data processing and understand the intricacies of stream processing. You thrive in collaborative environments where you can share ideas and learn from others.

You possess strong problem-solving skills and can develop strategies for efficient table materialization and maintenance at scale. Your experience with multi-tenant architectures enables you to design systems that serve diverse user needs effectively.

Desirable

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP is a plus, as is familiarity with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes. What you'll do

Join Confluent's engineering team to advance the Tableflow project, focusing on building the next generation of storage solutions. You'll work on developing the core components responsible for table materialization and background maintenance, ensuring high availability across Confluent Cloud.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tackle challenges related to distributed storage systems. Your role will involve designing and implementing strategies that enhance the performance and reliability of our data streaming platform.

Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and helping them grow in their careers. You'll also engage in discussions about architectural decisions and contribute to the overall technical direction of the team.

Contribute to the development of features that enable seamless consumption of streaming data as both tables and streams. Your work will directly impact how companies leverage data to react faster and build smarter solutions.
