Platform Engineer • Senior

Who you are

You have a strong background in software engineering with a focus on platform development, particularly in Linux environments. Your programming skills in languages such as C, Go, or Bash are complemented by a deep understanding of the Linux operating system and security practices. You understand the importance of writing high-quality, tested code and have experience with CI/CD and TDD methodologies.

Your experience includes designing software architecture and deploying applications, ensuring that they are packaged and installed correctly. You are familiar with performance analysis and tuning, and you know how to calculate throughput effectively. You thrive in environments where you can contribute to open-source projects and have a passion for improving system services.

Desirable

You have experience with publish-subscribe technologies like Kafka and are familiar with tools such as Zookeeper or Consul. Contributions to high-profile open-source projects, particularly the Linux kernel, are a plus. Your educational background includes a BA/BS or MA/MS degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.

What you'll do

In this role, you will develop and maintain a software platform that exposes Linux security instrumentation information. You will process and store this information in a database and publish it for consumption by distributed systems. Ensuring that all software has high unit test coverage is a priority, and you will work across multiple Linux platforms to achieve this.

You will perform performance analysis on the software, executing tuning and calculating throughput to ensure optimal operation. Your role will involve collaborating with other engineers to enhance the platform's capabilities and security features. You will also be responsible for mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the overall growth of the engineering team.
