You have a strong background in privacy law and experience working with AI technologies to create efficiencies and solve complex problems. Your collaborative and supportive mentality allows you to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product, Security, and IT. You excel at distilling complex legal concepts into simple, actionable business advice, ensuring that all stakeholders understand the implications of legal requirements. Your ability to draft and negotiate privacy and security clauses and contracts is well-honed, and you are comfortable conducting due diligence on suppliers through privacy and AI risk assessments.

Desirable

Experience in implementing AI-powered legal tools and automating legal workflows is a plus. Familiarity with emerging laws related to data protection and AI will help you navigate the evolving landscape of compliance. You are proactive in assessing new product features for privacy and AI risks, working closely with Product and Engineering teams to develop and implement effective mitigating controls. Your skills in drafting and updating data protection and AI-related policies and procedures will be invaluable in this role.

What you'll do

As Contentful’s Legal Counsel - Privacy, Product & AI, you will play a crucial role in advising and partnering with various teams throughout the organization. You will help develop and implement Contentful’s data protection and AI programs, ensuring compliance with existing and emerging laws. Your responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating privacy and security clauses and contracts, conducting due diligence on suppliers, and designing AI-powered legal tools that improve accuracy and expand team capacity. You will assess new product features for privacy and AI risks, collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to implement necessary controls. Additionally, you will provide guidance on tactical and strategic product and privacy matters to ensure that all business teams are compliant with applicable laws.
