You have proven experience in software development and systems engineering, with a strong understanding of relational database engines, preferably PostgreSQL. You thrive on responsibility and take pride in building highly scalable and reliable systems that enable others. Your thorough AWS knowledge spans core services such as RDS, S3, Lambda, and SNS/SQS, and you are well-versed in Infrastructure-as-Code best practices using Terraform and Kubernetes.

You enjoy collaborating closely with teams across domains, sharing knowledge freely, and supporting your colleagues. Your expertise in developing and maintaining services written in TypeScript and Go allows you to contribute effectively to the foundational infrastructure that supports billions of requests. You are proactive in identifying operational risks and anticipating bottlenecks or failure points before they cause problems.

Desirable

Experience with Kafka is a plus, as it complements your existing skill set and enhances your ability to work with content storage infrastructure. You are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies, ensuring that you stay ahead in a rapidly evolving field.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer at Contentful, you will be responsible for innovating and maintaining the underlying storage infrastructure and adjacent services. You will design and develop content storage solutions that are foundational to the billions of requests served daily. Your role will involve working with AWS and Terraform to implement Infrastructure-as-Code best practices, ensuring that the infrastructure is scalable and reliable.

You will collaborate closely with teams in the content storage and delivery domains, contributing to the development and maintenance of services written in TypeScript and Go. Your focus will be on enhancing scalability and performance features that directly impact customer experience. You will also help the team stay ahead of operational risks by anticipating bottlenecks or failure points before they arise, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.
