Who you are

You have over 5 years of experience in automation engineering, particularly in PLC programming and control systems. Your expertise includes working with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Omron, and you are adept at troubleshooting and modifying PLC programs to enhance operational efficiency. You understand the importance of safety and compliance in automation systems and have a proven track record of ensuring that systems meet relevant electrical and industrial safety standards.

You are a strategic thinker who can lead end-to-end decision-making processes for warehouse automation infrastructure. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams ensures smooth integration of new equipment and upgrades, and you are skilled at conducting root cause analysis for automation failures and downtime events. You are committed to continuous improvement and actively seek opportunities to reduce manual processes and enhance accuracy and throughput through automation.

Desirable

Experience with HMI/SCADA systems is a plus, as is familiarity with structured testing methodologies to validate system functionality. You are comfortable maintaining documentation related to electrical diagrams, PLC code versions, and change logs, ensuring that all records are up to date and compliant with audit requirements.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the standardization and governance of automation systems across Coupang's supply chain. You will design, develop, and maintain automation system software, migrating existing systems to in-house solutions where necessary. Your responsibilities will include integrating sensors, actuators, robots, conveyors, and packaging equipment into automated lines, ensuring that all components work seamlessly together.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth integration of new equipment and upgrades, conducting structured tests to validate system functionality. Your role will also involve developing preventive and predictive maintenance plans for PLC and industrial automation components, ensuring high reliability and minimal downtime.

You will be responsible for monitoring system performance and implementing dashboards, alarms, and analytics to improve visibility and reliability of automation systems. Your focus will be on driving Kaizen initiatives centered around automation reliability and efficiency, identifying opportunities to reduce manual work and enhance processing accuracy.
