Who you are

You have a bachelor's degree in graphic design, interaction design, industrial design, HCI, computer science, psychology, or equivalent experience. With over 5 years of product design experience, you possess a strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in typography, interaction design, visual design, user research, and design systems. You are proficient in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe, allowing you to create high-quality design deliverables. You have a deep understanding of design principles and can define design philosophies and guidelines that enhance user experience across platforms.

You are a mentor at heart, guiding junior designers while also being hands-on in your work. You thrive in collaborative environments, fostering a culture where the entire team shares the same goals and vision. Your ability to communicate effectively with UXPMs, POs, developers, and other design roles ensures that projects run smoothly and efficiently.

Desirable

Experience in managing design libraries and creating guidelines for design systems is a plus. You are familiar with the latest design trends and technologies, which helps you stay ahead in the fast-evolving design landscape. Your analytical skills enable you to make data-driven design decisions, ensuring that your designs not only look good but also meet user needs and business objectives.

What you'll do

As a Senior Product Designer at Coupang, you will be responsible for designing and managing the design system that supports the company's vast platform. You will define the foundational elements of design and create components that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Your role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that design principles are adhered to throughout the product development process.

You will create and maintain a design library, ensuring that all design assets are organized and accessible for the team. Your responsibilities include writing guidelines and creating mockups that illustrate design concepts, as well as establishing channels for effective communication of these guidelines to the broader team. You will foster a collaborative work culture that encourages flexibility and productivity in using the design system.

In addition to your design responsibilities, you will mentor junior designers, helping them grow their skills and contribute effectively to the team. You will work closely with various teams, including UXPMs, POs, developers, and motion designers, to ensure that the design system is integrated seamlessly into the product development lifecycle. Your strategic thinking will help shape the overall design direction of Coupang's platform, ensuring that it remains user-centric and innovative.
