Overview

Crusoe is seeking a Staff Infrastructure Security Engineer to architect and operationalize foundational security services for a Zero Trust model. You'll focus on HashiCorp Vault and credentials management strategies. This role requires extensive experience in security architecture and cloud environments.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in security engineering with a focus on infrastructure — your experience includes architecting and deploying security services that align with modern Zero Trust principles. You are a technical leader who thrives in collaborative environments, driving consensus across teams to implement robust security solutions. Your expertise in secrets management and identity architecture positions you as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in your field, and you are passionate about evolving security practices to meet the demands of a hybrid multi-cloud environment.

You have hands-on experience with HashiCorp Vault, guiding its transition from Proof-of-Concept (PoC) to global production readiness — you understand the intricacies of managing secrets and credentials in a secure manner. Your strategic mindset allows you to define and establish the foundational security services that will underpin the organization’s security posture. You are adept at onboarding engineering teams to secure self-service workflows, ensuring that security is integrated seamlessly into the development process.

You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to articulate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders — you are comfortable leading discussions and providing guidance on best practices. Your proactive approach to identifying potential security risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies sets you apart as a leader in the field.

Desirable

Experience with cloud security frameworks and compliance standards is a plus — familiarity with regulatory requirements will enhance your ability to contribute to the organization’s security strategy. You are also open to learning new technologies and methodologies that can further strengthen the security posture of the organization.

What you'll do

In this role, you will architect a highly available, disaster-resilient, and scalable multi-cluster secrets management platform — this platform will serve as the foundation for the organization’s Zero Trust strategy. You will lead the technical implementation of security services, ensuring that they are aligned with industry best practices and organizational goals. Your responsibilities will include defining security policies, governance frameworks, and operational procedures that support the Zero Trust model.

You will collaborate closely with Cloud Engineering and DevOps teams to integrate security into the development lifecycle — your role will involve conducting security assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and recommending remediation strategies. You will also be responsible for evolving the organization’s credentials management strategy, ensuring that it meets the needs of various engineering teams while maintaining a high level of security.

As a technical leader, you will mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of security awareness and best practices across the organization. You will participate in incident response activities, providing expertise during security incidents and helping to develop post-incident reviews to improve future responses.

What we offer

At Crusoe, you will be part of a mission-driven team that is dedicated to accelerating the abundance of energy and intelligence through sustainable technology. We offer a collaborative work environment where innovation is encouraged, and your contributions will have a tangible impact on the organization’s success. You will have opportunities for professional growth and development, as well as access to resources that support your career advancement.

We believe in the importance of work-life balance and offer flexible working arrangements to accommodate your needs. Our competitive compensation package includes benefits that support your well-being and professional aspirations. Join us in shaping the future of cloud infrastructure and be part of the AI revolution.
