Who you are

You have 2-8 years of experience in machine learning engineering, particularly in high-velocity environments where you have applied machine learning techniques to solve complex problems. Your expertise includes scheduling and optimization algorithms, which you have used to improve system performance and efficiency. You are comfortable building end-to-end systems and have a strong understanding of the challenges involved in integrating AI/ML models into production environments.

You possess a solid foundation in data storage and processing, model training, and serving components. Your experience includes architecting and implementing robust, scalable ML infrastructure that supports seamless integration of AI/ML models. You are also familiar with novel modeling techniques in the field of ML for Systems, and you have a passion for contributing to the broader AI community through research and open-source projects.

What you'll do

As a Senior Applied AI Engineer at Databricks, you will be responsible for applying machine learning and optimization algorithms to enhance the performance of our engineering systems and infrastructure. You will work closely with a small team of experienced professionals to build end-to-end systems from the ground up. Your role will involve shaping the direction of our applied ML areas of investment by collaborating with engineering and product teams across the company.

You will drive the development and deployment of state-of-the-art AI models and systems that directly impact the capabilities and performance of Databricks' products and services. This includes architecting and implementing robust ML infrastructure, as well as monitoring and reporting systems to ensure the successful integration of AI/ML models into production environments. You will also contribute to the AI community by publishing research and presenting at conferences, enhancing Databricks' reputation as an industry leader.
