Who you are
You have over 9 years of professional experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Your background includes building and scaling high-performing engineering teams, particularly in the realm of application security and compliance. You possess a deep understanding of security best practices and have successfully implemented secure frameworks and tooling in previous roles.
You are skilled at defining and executing strategies that integrate security into every layer of a platform. Your experience includes partnering closely with engineering and product leaders to ensure security is a fundamental aspect of all new initiatives. You have a proven track record of driving the adoption of security best practices across organizations, making security accessible and scalable for all teams.
You are an effective communicator, capable of representing your organization's security practices to both internal senior leadership and external industry stakeholders. You understand the importance of compliance and have experience navigating complex regulatory environments.
Desirable
Experience with security threat detection and compliance frameworks is a plus. Familiarity with data and AI infrastructure platforms will help you excel in this role. You are passionate about building a culture of security within your team and the broader organization.
What you'll do
As the Senior Engineering Manager for Trust and Safety at Databricks, you will lead a dedicated team focused on enhancing application security and compliance. Your primary responsibility will be to build and scale a high-performing engineering team that is committed to protecting our platform and customers from evolving threats. You will define and execute the strategy for secure frameworks, primitives, and tooling used across Databricks, ensuring that security is integrated into every aspect of our operations.
You will collaborate closely with engineering and product leaders to ensure that security is designed into all new initiatives. This involves driving the adoption of security best practices across the organization by creating easy-to-use, scalable frameworks and services. You will provide technical oversight for secure system design and guide efforts to reduce technical debt in core security components.
In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will represent Databricks and our security practices to senior leadership and the broader industry. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the future of our security initiatives and ensuring that we maintain the highest standards of trust and safety for our customers.
