Who you are
You have over 9 years of professional experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Your background includes building and scaling high-performing engineering teams focused on application security and compliance. You possess a deep understanding of security best practices and have successfully integrated security into various layers of a platform. Your experience has equipped you with the skills to define and execute strategies for secure frameworks and tooling across an organization.
You are a strong collaborator, capable of partnering closely with engineering and product leaders to ensure security by design in all new initiatives. Your technical oversight in secure system design has helped reduce technical debt in core security components. You are comfortable representing your organizationβs security practices to senior leadership and the broader industry, showcasing your expertise and commitment to building a trusted platform.
Desirable
Experience with compliance frameworks and regulations is a plus, as is familiarity with evolving security threats and mitigation strategies. You have a proactive approach to driving the adoption of security best practices and building scalable frameworks that are easy to use across teams.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead the Trust and Safety team at Databricks, focusing on application security and compliance. You will be responsible for building and scaling a high-performing engineering team dedicated to protecting our platform and customers from evolving threats. Your leadership will define the direction for how security is integrated into every layer of our platform, ensuring that security is a foundational aspect of all new initiatives.
You will work closely with engineering and product leaders to drive the adoption of security best practices across the organization. This includes developing easy-to-use, scalable frameworks and services that empower teams to prioritize security in their workflows. You will provide technical oversight for secure system design, guiding efforts to reduce technical debt in core security components and ensuring that security is embedded in the development lifecycle.
Your role will also involve representing Databricks and our security practices internally to senior leadership and externally to the industry. You will be a key figure in shaping the security culture within the organization, fostering an environment where security is everyone's responsibility.
