Your practical business judgment helps you balance risk and opportunity, making you a valuable asset to the team.
You are experienced in handling a wide range of employment law matters, including hiring and recruiting, investigations, discipline and termination, and compliance with anti-discrimination laws. You understand the nuances of U.S. employment law and are committed to supporting a diverse and inclusive workplace. Your ability to lead global employment-related projects demonstrates your capability to manage complex legal challenges across different jurisdictions.
What you'll do
In this role, you will provide legal counseling to the Databricks People Team on various employment law matters affecting the U.S. workforce. You will collaborate with HR and business partners to address employee relations issues and resolve disputes effectively. Your responsibilities will include advising on hiring practices, conducting investigations, and ensuring compliance with wage and hour laws. You will also guide the team on disability accommodations and leaves of absence, ensuring that all policies align with legal requirements.
You will lead global employment-related projects, working closely with international teams to ensure that Databricks' employment practices are consistent and compliant across all regions. Your role will involve drafting and reviewing employment-related documents, such as contracts and policies, to ensure they meet legal standards. You will also stay updated on changes in employment law and provide training to the People Team on relevant legal issues.
