Desirable

Experience with large-scale AI projects or platforms is a plus — familiarity with tools and technologies used in AI model training and evaluation will help you hit the ground running. A background in data engineering or data science will also be beneficial as you work closely with cross-functional teams.

What you'll do

As the Engineering Manager for the Evaluation & Annotation team, you will manage and grow a team of 6-8 engineers — your primary responsibility will be to define the technical roadmap in alignment with the goals of the AI platform and the Applied AI team. You will work closely with core platform teams to tailor Datadog's storage and data pipelines to meet the needs of your team.

You will lead the charge on multiple critical technical challenges, including AI model evaluation both offline and online — your team will design tooling and processes around human annotation, establishing standards for synthetics and AI-generated datasets. You will ensure a seamless AI development cycle by collaborating with sister teams in the AI platform organization.

You will be responsible for creating a strong team culture that values collaboration and innovation — you will implement best practices for team management, performance evaluation, and career development. Your leadership will be crucial in driving the success of the Evaluation & Annotation team and contributing to the overall mission of Datadog's AI platform.
