You have 5+ years of experience as an Atlassian Administrator, with a deep understanding of Jira and Confluence — you've architected, configured, and customized these tools to meet the needs of a fast-paced organization. Your expertise extends to defining best practices and governance frameworks that ensure security and compliance across the Atlassian ecosystem.

You are a subject matter expert in integrating Atlassian tools with other SaaS platforms — your experience includes designing advanced workflows and automations that enhance productivity and collaboration among teams. You thrive in a hybrid work environment, valuing the relationships and creativity that come from in-person collaboration while also being effective in remote settings.

Your strong communication skills enable you to partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including Engineering, Product, IT Operations, and Security — you understand the importance of aligning technical solutions with business objectives. You are proactive in identifying opportunities for improvement and are comfortable leading initiatives that elevate the Atlassian domain within the organization.

Desirable

Experience with scripting and API integrations is a plus, as is familiarity with governance and compliance standards in IT operations. You are adaptable and open to learning new technologies that can enhance the Atlassian ecosystem.

What you'll do

As a Senior Atlassian Administrator, you will serve as the lead subject matter expert for all Atlassian systems — your responsibilities will include the architecture, design, configuration, and scaling of Jira and Confluence. You will define and enforce best practices for user access, permissions, and licensing, ensuring that the tools are used effectively and securely across the organization.

You will collaborate with other SaaS administrators and IT Operations to implement advanced workflows and automations that connect Atlassian tools with internal systems — your work will directly impact the efficiency of teams across Datadog. You will also be responsible for maintaining the strategic roadmap for Atlassian tools, ensuring that they evolve in line with the needs of a global organization.

In this role, you will lead initiatives to enhance governance frameworks and security controls for Atlassian tools — you will conduct audits and compliance checks to ensure that best practices are followed. Your ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders will be crucial as you advocate for the needs of the IT Operations team and the broader organization.
