Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in Site Reliability Engineering, with experience in designing and implementing observability platforms. You understand the importance of data in monitoring system performance and have a knack for asking the right questions to ensure systems run smoothly. Your experience with OpenTelemetry and similar tools allows you to collect and analyze data effectively, providing insights that drive system improvements.
You are proficient in Linux and have hands-on experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes. Your technical skills are complemented by your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring that both engineering and operational perspectives are considered in system design.
You thrive in environments where you can take ownership of your work and are always looking for ways to automate processes and improve system reliability. Your problem-solving skills enable you to tackle complex challenges, and you are comfortable working with large-scale systems that require high availability and performance.
Desirable
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP is a plus, as is familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools. You may also have experience in incident management and response, ensuring that systems are resilient and can recover quickly from failures.
What you'll do
As a Site Reliability Engineer at dLocal, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous maintenance of our centralized observability platform. You will leverage OpenTelemetry as the backend to ensure that our systems are monitored effectively, providing insights into performance and reliability. Your role will involve collaborating with engineering teams to define what data is necessary for understanding system performance and how to collect it efficiently.
You will work closely with mission-critical applications, ensuring that they meet the high standards expected by our global clients. This includes identifying patterns in the data that indicate potential issues and developing automated responses to mitigate them. Your contributions will directly impact the reliability of our services, helping to maintain the trust of our clients like Netflix, Amazon, and Nike.
In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will also play a key role in fostering a culture of reliability within the organization. This involves sharing knowledge and best practices with your peers and mentoring junior engineers as they grow in their roles. You will be expected to stay up-to-date with industry trends and continuously seek out opportunities for improvement in our systems and processes.
