Overview
DoorDash is seeking an FPV Pilot – Acro Line-of-Sight Specialist to conduct hands-on drone testing and evaluation. You'll work closely with systems engineers and provide actionable flight data to support the development of next-generation UAS technologies. This role requires advanced acro mode flight experience and is based in Bay Point, California.
Job Description
Who you are
You are a highly skilled FPV Pilot with advanced acro mode flight experience, ready to operate small and mid-size multi-rotor and fixed-wing UAS platforms in visual line-of-sight environments. You have a strong understanding of drone testing and evaluation processes, and you are passionate about applying autonomous aviation technologies in a service used by millions. Your experience includes maintaining detailed logs of flight hours and aircraft conditions, ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures.
Desirable
Experience with systems validation efforts involving PX4, ArduPilot, Auterion, and Herelink control systems is a plus. You are familiar with FAA regulations and have a keen eye for detail when it comes to flight performance and controls tuning.
What you'll do
In this role, you will conduct test flights, calibration routines, and performance evaluations under engineering supervision. You will collaborate closely with systems engineers to provide high-quality, data-driven feedback on flight performance and system reliability. Your responsibilities will include operating UAS platforms in acro mode, supporting safety and compliance processes, and participating in system validation efforts. You will maintain detailed logs of flight hours and aircraft conditions, documenting any observed anomalies to inform design improvements.
What we offer
You will be part of DoorDash Labs, an independent team focused on exploring robotics and automation to transform last-mile logistics. This position is fully on-site at our Bay Point, California test facility, with work hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge UAS technologies and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and safety in the logistics sector.
