Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in iOS development, with a strong focus on building scalable and maintainable applications. Your expertise in Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit allows you to create high-quality user interfaces that enhance the user experience. You are familiar with design systems and understand the importance of consistency across platforms. Your collaborative spirit shines through as you work closely with designers and engineers to ensure that design principles are adhered to across all products.
You have a keen eye for detail and are passionate about performance optimization and accessibility. Your experience includes translating design specifications from tools like Figma into functional components that are both visually appealing and user-friendly. You are proactive in advocating for best practices in design and development, ensuring that your team adheres to high standards of quality.
You enjoy mentoring junior engineers and sharing your knowledge of iOS development best practices. Your ability to lead cross-functional initiatives makes you a valuable asset to any team. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and thrive on the challenges that come with building a cohesive design system.
Desirable
Experience with the Android ecosystem is a plus, as it allows you to better understand cross-platform challenges. Familiarity with UI testing and analytics instrumentation will help you contribute to the overall quality of the product. You may have prior experience contributing to open-source design systems or developer tooling, showcasing your commitment to the developer community.
What you'll do
As a Senior iOS Engineer on the Design System Team, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining Dropboxβs DIG design system iOS component library. You will collaborate with designers to translate Figma designs into accurate, maintainable UI components that serve as the backbone of our product experience. Your work will ensure that engineers and designers can build with speed, quality, and cohesion.
You will partner with cross-platform peers, including Android and Web engineers, to ensure that the design system is cohesive and adopted across all platforms. Your contributions will drive long-term architecture, accessibility, and performance standards that support product growth at scale. You will also focus on improving documentation, workflows, and tooling to make using the design system frictionless for engineers.
Your role will involve gaining exposure to senior leadership and influencing design and engineering practices across teams. You will be responsible for advocating for best practices in both design and development, ensuring that the design system evolves to meet the needs of millions of users.
