Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in infrastructure software engineering, with experience in designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems. Your technical leadership skills enable you to guide a team effectively, ensuring high-quality deliverables while fostering a collaborative environment. You have a deep understanding of identity and authentication concepts, including OAuth, SSO, OIDC, SAML, MFA, and RBAC, which you have applied in previous roles. Your experience with high QPS platform services running in production has equipped you with the skills to manage complex systems and execute on a system-focused roadmap. You are passionate about mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a culture of inclusivity and excellence.
Desirable
Experience with additional programming languages or frameworks is a plus, as is familiarity with cloud services and infrastructure management tools. You thrive in environments that require cross-team collaboration and communication, and you are eager to contribute to the evolution of Dropbox's identity platform.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead the re-architecture of Dropbox's identity systems, ensuring they can support the company's transition to a multi-product strategy. You will collaborate closely with product engineering and internal teams to implement wide-ranging use cases that depend on the identity platform. Your responsibilities will include designing APIs, managing phased data migrations, and optimizing persistent storage solutions. You will provide technical leadership to your team, guiding them through complex challenges and ensuring alignment with best practices in software architecture and quality assurance.
You will also mentor junior engineers, helping them grow their skills and navigate their career paths within the company. Your role will involve regular communication with dependent teams across Dropbox, ensuring that everyone is aligned and working towards common goals. You will be expected to deliver high-quality work with a bias for action, contributing to the overall success of the identity platform and its integration with other products.
