Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in infrastructure software engineering, particularly in building and maintaining large-scale distributed systems. Your expertise in Identity & Auth concepts such as OAuth, SSO, OIDC, SAML, MFA, and RBAC makes you a strong candidate for this role. You are proficient in programming languages like Python and Go, and you have a solid understanding of API design and system architecture. You thrive in collaborative environments and have a proven track record of mentoring junior engineers, fostering a culture of inclusivity and excellence within your team.
You possess strong communication skills, enabling you to effectively collaborate with product engineering and internal teams that depend on identity services. Your bias for action drives you to deliver high-quality work consistently, and you are committed to ensuring software and architecture excellence through quality feedback and risk mitigation. You understand the importance of aligning with company values and are passionate about contributing to a successful team dynamic.
Desirable
Experience with cloud platforms and services is a plus, as is familiarity with executing on a system-focused roadmap for major distributed systems. You are eager to take on technical leadership responsibilities and help shape the future of Dropbox's identity platform.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead the re-architecture of Dropbox's Identity systems to support the company's transition to a multi-product strategy. You will collaborate closely with product engineering teams to implement wide-ranging use cases that enhance the identity platform's capabilities. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing scalable APIs, managing phased data migrations, and optimizing persistent storage solutions. You will also provide technical leadership to your team, guiding them through complex challenges and ensuring high standards of software quality.
You will mentor junior engineers, helping them grow their skills and confidence while fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture. Your role will involve regular communication with cross-functional teams to align on project goals and deliverables, ensuring that the identity services meet the needs of the organization. You will be responsible for executing on a system-focused roadmap, leading the phased implementation of major distributed systems, and driving innovation within the identity platform.
What we offer
Dropbox offers a competitive compensation package, with a salary range of CAD 168,300 to CAD 227,700. You will have the opportunity to work remotely from select locations in Canada, allowing for flexibility in your work environment.
