Who you are
As a Quantitative Research Intern, you are eager to dive into the world of quantitative trading and possess a solid understanding of statistical analysis and mathematical modeling. You are familiar with machine learning techniques and are excited to apply them in a practical trading context. Your analytical mindset allows you to approach complex problems with innovative solutions, and you thrive in collaborative environments where diverse ideas are encouraged. You are a quick learner, ready to absorb knowledge from experienced traders and researchers, and you are passionate about exploring the intricacies of multi-asset class derivatives strategies.
Desirable
While not required, familiarity with derivatives pricing theory and experience in a trading environment would be advantageous. A background in programming, particularly in languages such as Python or R, would enhance your ability to contribute effectively to the team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will create practical solutions to challenges presented in the trading environment, focusing on either a systematic equity trading desk or a fixed income options desk. You will conduct statistical analysis of market data, examining historical trends and relationships across multiple asset classes to inform trading strategies. Your work will involve formulating and applying mathematical models and quantitative methods to identify and capture trading opportunities. You will collaborate closely with traders and researchers, utilizing the teamβs custom research infrastructure for simulation, back-testing, and validation of proposed models. This hands-on experience will deepen your understanding of quantitative trading and enhance your problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
