Enviva is hiring a Control Room Operator to monitor and manage plant systems for efficient and safe operations. This role requires an understanding of control room operations and the ability to respond to alarms and maintain equipment.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a foundational understanding of control room operations and are eager to learn about the renewable energy sector. You possess the ability to prepare accurate records and have a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all plant systems are monitored effectively. Your technical skills are complemented by strong communication abilities, allowing you to coordinate with team members and respond to alarms promptly. You are committed to safety and efficiency in all operations, understanding the importance of maintaining a low-carbon alternative to fossil fuels.
What you'll do
As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for monitoring the status of all plant systems continuously. You will respond to alarms by taking appropriate corrective actions and procedures, ensuring that the plant meets its generating requirements while operating safely and efficiently. Your role will involve managing the chip feed system, fuel feed system, furnace, dryer system, and pellet presses. You will check indicator screens and signal lights, monitor production rates, and ensure the smooth functioning of systems and equipment. Additionally, you will translate signals into production realities, adjusting production line processes as necessary to maintain optimal operations.
