Overview

Enviva is hiring a Control Room Operator to monitor and manage plant operations. You'll ensure the plant operates safely and efficiently while responding to alarms and maintaining system functionality. This role requires an understanding of control room operations.

Who you are

You have a foundational understanding of control room operations and are eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. Your attention to detail ensures that you can accurately prepare records and monitor plant systems effectively. You are proactive in responding to alarms and taking corrective actions to maintain operational efficiency. You possess a range of technical and soft skills that enable you to communicate effectively with team members and manage plant functions smoothly.

What you'll do

As a Control Room Operator, you will be responsible for operating plant functions from the control room, ensuring that all systems are monitored continuously. You will manage the chip feed system, fuel feed system, furnace, dryer system, and pellet presses, acting as the overall contact for plant operations. Your role will involve checking indicator screens and signal lights, monitoring production rates, and ensuring that the plant meets its generating requirements while operating safely and efficiently. You will translate signals into production realities, adjusting processes as necessary to maintain optimal performance. Additionally, you will maintain working schedules and monitor equipment temperatures to ensure everything operates within safe parameters.
