Overview
Enviva is seeking a Mechanical Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on critical machinery in pellet manufacturing. You'll work with various equipment and tools to ensure operational efficiency. This position is ideal for candidates with a background in mechanical maintenance.
Job Description
Who you are
You are a detail-oriented Mechanical Technician with a foundational understanding of machinery maintenance and repair. You have experience working with various tools and equipment, including hand and power tools, and are comfortable performing tasks such as assembling, cutting, and threading pipes. You understand the importance of preventive maintenance and are committed to following approved procedures to ensure equipment reliability.
You possess strong troubleshooting skills, enabling you to diagnose and repair motors, fans, gearboxes, conveyors, and other equipment specific to pellet manufacturing. Your ability to analyze equipment performance and document inspections demonstrates your commitment to maintaining high operational standards. You are eager to contribute to a team that values continuous improvement and sustainability in energy production.
Desirable
Experience with lubrication programs and preventive maintenance schedules is a plus. Familiarity with welding machines and other specialized equipment will enhance your ability to perform repairs effectively. A background in renewable energy or bioenergy solutions would be beneficial, as it aligns with Enviva's mission to provide sustainable energy alternatives.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that preventive maintenance is completed on critical and auxiliary machinery associated with 24/7 pellet manufacturing. You will meticulously adhere to approved procedures, identifying and documenting specification equipment for follow-on inspection and corrective maintenance as necessary. Your role will involve assembling, cutting, threading, and laying pipes, as well as assisting in the repair, installation, maintenance, and purchase of various equipment and parts.
You will perform thorough troubleshooting and repairs on a variety of equipment, including motors, fans, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and other pellet mill-specific machinery. Your hands-on experience with diverse machines and equipment will be crucial as you work with hand and power tools, drill presses, and welding machines to carry out maintenance and repair tasks.
Additionally, you will coordinate preventive maintenance and lubrication as scheduled, maintaining accurate reports of your activities. You will also be responsible for performing and documenting required inspections of equipment to ensure it remains in good condition. Your analytical skills will be put to use as you assess equipment performance and make necessary adjustments to improve efficiency.
