Who you are
You are an experienced leader in data science and data engineering with a strong foundation in predictive analytics, particularly within the fintech sector. You have a proven track record of leading teams through the full data lifecycle, from raw data to production and monitoring of predictive models. Your strategic thinking and technical expertise enable you to deliver innovative and scalable solutions that drive financial inclusion across markets.
You possess deep knowledge of software engineering principles and have hands-on experience with machine learning and data platforms. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including credit risk, product, and commercial teams, allows you to turn complex datasets into actionable insights that optimize growth while managing risk effectively.
Desirable
Experience in credit scoring, mobile money, or micro-lending is highly advantageous. You are comfortable working with large datasets and have a strong understanding of risk management frameworks. Your leadership style fosters collaboration and innovation, encouraging your team to explore new ways of using data to improve products and develop new opportunities.
What you'll do
In this role, you will lead a combined team of data engineers, machine learning engineers, and prediction analysts, guiding them in developing predictive models that support business decisions. You will partner with various teams to implement market rules and portfolio strategies based on alternate datasets and modeling methodologies. Your focus will be on enhancing collections performance, reducing credit losses, and increasing customer lifecycle value.
You will oversee the processing of approximately 21 million loan requests and 1.4 TB of data daily, ensuring that the systems are robust, reliable, and secure. Your leadership will drive improvements in loan issuance and recovery, optimizing performance and reporting. You will also explore new ways to leverage transactional data to enhance product offerings and identify new market opportunities.
